How to use Technorati to drive traffic on your blog

There is one of the biggest blog directory is Technorati. Technorati has a great index of Blogs from around the world. Thi site not only index your blog but also rank them. And if your blog is ranked at top 10 in any category, you can expect some great traffic. So how we can submit blog to Technorati and helps in ranking also helps in faster indexing of new blog?

There are 3 major steps to add your blog to technorati, Register, Submit site and verify your blog. Let’s discuss the steps one by one. One thing to remember before you register to technorati, add a complete description of your blog and let people know your blog is a professional blog.

1.     Register

Of course first thing you have to do is register new account to technorati. On the registration form, fill all data needed and remember, fill it as complete as you can that related to your blog. You can add or edit the data after you have register. After you have filled the form, click sign up. You will get notification via email regarding to your register and a link to verify that you really register to technorati. After click the link, now you have successfully become technorati member

2.     Submit Site

First thing you do after become technorati member is complete your personal data and don’t forget to click save when you made change.

After you filled the complete data, now you can submit your blog to technorati. Just like on registration phase you haver to fill form that related to your blog, such as: blog name, description, tag, blog url, etc.

3.     Verify Your Site

After you add your blog to the list, technorati couldn’t crawl to your blog until you verify that you are owner of the blog. So, how to verify the blog?

Just click on verify your website. Then there are 3 steps to do.

1.  Download file technoratimedia_sv_xxxx.txt. This file contain a number and words like this:

2.     Upload File to the root directory (top level folder or home folder) or your site. You should make new post containing this number and published to your blog.

3. Click this: http://xxxxx.blogspot.com/technoratimedia_sv_148df.txt to make sure you have uploaded the file correctly. Click the button and technorati will check for the file. Once your site is verified, your site setup is complete and you can add ad tags to your site.

Done..now your blog is listed in technorati and if you have nice blog with great contents…I’m sure your blog will rank in the top list.
